Swim Camp in Slovenia- Day 1

After a longer than expected travel day getting to Slovenia, we were a bit slow to get up the next day to explore Ljubljana.  We grabbed granola bars for breakfast, packed our bags, and headed out to walk by the river.

How pretty is this place?

Beautiful weather made a lovely backdrop to such a pretty city

We spotted some musicians.  They were actually from Sweden.

center of photo shows 3 musicians, one seated playing what a mandolin, maybe? Two women standing are playing violins or fiddles - is there a difference?

We ate at a little café on the river where we could still hear the music.

Then we hopped on a boat for a river tour.

We did not have much time before we had to catch our van to Bohinj so we figured it would be an easy way to see a bit of the city with minimal effort.

We were bummed to not get to see much, but consoled ourselves with the fact that we had a day scheduled in Ljubljana after the camp.

The drive to Bohinj was beautiful!  We arrived to Ljubljana at night so did not see any of the landscape, but in the light of day we were amazed by the mountains on the horizon just outside the city.

view from a van window of yellow grass, then a green crop, beyond that dark green evergreen trees, and in the distance sort of grayed-out you can see mountains that are a mix of tan and dark green, but like there is a film on it making everything a little grey.

Once at the hotel we had a short nap before meeting the swim guides are other participants in the 4 Day Slovenia Trip put on by Swim Trek. We had an intro session and safety briefing and then it was off to bed to get ready for an exciting day of swimming!

on the bottom of the photo you can see what looks like a metal roof and beyond that structure is a parking lot. There are trees behind the parking lot and beyond that in the distance you can see a mountain with some fog/steam coming off of it

Author: Oh yes she cane!

My name is Kerry and I love swimming, hiking, working out in general, travelling, shopping, baking, and reading. Some of those loves are a bit tricky to perform thanks for my rare nerve disease- hereditary spastic paraparesis. No worries though as I have a super handy cane, hiking poles, and amazing friends that help me along the way! I hope to share with you a bit about my life, inspire you to live yours to fullest, and hopefully, if needed, motivate you to get whatever assistance will help you to do so!
